Lisa is the author of the vegan health and fitness book, Gone in 60 Minutes– a bite sized health and fitness saviour that can be read in just 60 minutes. Probably one of the most active vegans around, Lisa is a competitive runner, having ran for her club – Liverpool Pembroke Sefton, the county – of Merseyside, England for her age group and Great Britain Duathlon teams for her age group on European on World Championship levels. She is also part of Mersey Tri and Vegan Runners clubs. Lisa is currently ranked 9th in the world for her age group in Sprint Duathlon and ranked 8th in Europe. A lover of all things fitness, Lisa balances the sport of running and cycling with regular weight training which she is a huge advocate of for building strength and power in sport. 

Outside of sport, Lisa is also the co-owner and Joint MD of the UKs fastest growing Vegan food and drink distributor Bravura Foods. Named in 2018 by the telegraph as one of the UKs top 50 ambitious business leaders in association with LDC, Lisa Gawthorne launched vegan food company, Bravura Foods, in 2011 with business partner and good friend Karl Morris after struggling to find a varied range of vegan products on the market.

Lisa is asked regularly to contribute to various journals, magazines and papers including Women’s Running, Women’s Fitness, Natural Lifestyle, Health and Fitness, Huffington Post, Vegan Society, Runners World, USN, Great Vegan Athletes Vegan Trade Journal, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Livekindly, PlantShift.comHealth Food Business, Natural Products, Plant Based News, PETA , Daily Mail and Veganuary. She has also recently been involved in podcasts with Viva! Radio, Legit podcast and Vegan business talk . Lisa has also appeared on BBC Global News and Sky News talking about the vegan market and the UKs growing appetite for innovate vegan products.

This talk will look at Lisa’s personal journey from taking fitness as a hobby to international representation and everything in between. It will include inspiration from the international vegan athlete scene along with useful dietary tips, the view on supplements and the overall benefits of a vegan diet in sport.
