Alex Lockwood

Co-Coordinator of Animal Rebellion

Dr Alex Lockwood is author of The Pig in Thin Air and a senior lecturer at the University of Sunderland where he researches vegan life practice, activism and social change narratives. He was one of the coordinators of Animal Rebellion for their October rebellion, and since 2017 has been Director of Save Movement UK, overseeing its governance structure while contributing to the global Save Movement’s strategic direction. He is also a member of the Vegan Society’s Research Advisory Committee and conducts grassroots actions with local Save, AV and outreach groups.
