It’s ironic that the media still lambast parents for bringing children up vegan despite the status quo of the average diet being so inadequate. There are record levels of childhood obesity and diabetes now. With a few tweaks all the vital nutrients to optimise children’s diets and give them the best start in life can be found in plants. By insuring reliable sources of nutrients such as iodine, choline, Omega 3, zinc, calcium, vitamin D, selenium, flavanoids and of course vitamin B12 it’s possible for vegan children to have a distinct advantage over their non vegan peers.
