Comprehensive Talks, Workshops and Panels on Plant Based Fitness at VegfestUK London 2019

This year’s VegfestUK London on October 26-27 at Olympia London includes not only one but two areas dedicated to getting fit and healthy without the use of animal products. A whole host of  fantastic plant powered athletes and fitness personalities are on the lineup this year, dedicated to showing you how you can thrive on a plant-based diet.

 

 

Vivo Life Fitness

VegfestUK is partnering up with premium organic vegan supplement producers Vivo Life, who are bringing us a dazzling lineup of their knowledgeable and well-followed fitness ambassadors, who will be involved in a selection of thought-provoking, educational and potentially life-changing panels.

Make sure to visit the Vivo Life stall CN3 on Level 1 of Olympia Central (floor plan here) to sample their award winning plant based products and meet some of their ambassadors.

Female Fitness Panel

  • Maddie Lymburner – vegan social media influencer dedicated to helping others discover a compassionate, active, healthy lifestyle through creating content workout videos, vegan lifestyle videos, recipe videos, and her digital cookbook “What I Eat for Life”
  • Izzi Von Kohler – plant-based personal trainer and fitness blogger who offers extensive advice on how to stay fit, healthy and happy while eating cruelty-free
  • Tori Reeve – international fitness model competing later this year for the European WBFF Bikini title

 

Vegan Bodybuilding Panel

  • Ferdinand Beck – YouTuber, podcast host and certified Vegan Savage who helps people manifest their best physiques and best lives
  • Jon Venus – 100% plant based public figure and online coach who has built one of the largest fitness & lifestyle YouTube channels in the world
  • Brian Turner – natural bodybuilder for 10 years of which now 3.5 years have been vegan. Brian boasts 270k subscribers on his YouTube channel and speaks about how he’s been able to make gains on a vegan diet, battle through his tough times with acne and he shares his life weekly on social media.
  • Hench Herbivore – vegan Personal Trainer and Nutritionist and runs the Hench Herbivore YouTube channel

  • Miles Kasiri – clinical nutritionist and former pro athlete who now motivates and inspires hundreds of thousands across the world via his YouTube channel @healthycrazycool
  • Axel Schurawlow – filmmaker, influencer and podcast host who shows thousands people on social media how to get mentally and physically in shape (without harming other beings)
  • Izzi Von Kohler – plant-based personal trainer and fitness blogger who offers extensive advice on how to stay fit, healthy and happy while eating cruelty-free
  • Leo Venus – medical doctor and public figure who focuses on spreading science and health through social platforms, including his Youtube channel

 

Vegan Bodybuilding Competition – Shoulder Press

The event will be a single dumbbell shoulder press (15Kg males, 7Kg females).  The contest will be how many continuous repetitions a contestant can achieve.  Partial reps & ‘push pressing’ will not be allowed & the judges may end any event if they feel a safety issue arises (either to the contestant or the audience). The judge’s decision is final. Entry is free & all entrants will receive a prize.

Strength & Endurance

The Strength & Endurance area is shaping up nicely with a selection of knowledgeable and highly achieving athletes and fitness coaches who follow a plant-based diet themselves discussing a comprehensive range of topics for visitors looking to enhance their strength and endurance without resorting to animal-based foods.

This area includes both feature-length presentations and workout sessions in which visitors are welcome to participate.

In this talk I'm going to share with you how a plant-based diet helped me master some of the hardest moves in Calisthenics, do more than 1000 pull ups within a few hours, build more muscle, improve my health and a lot more. We'll have a close look at the reasons behind this. We will also explore what's the best thing we all can do to bring about a radical change to help others and how important it is to strengthen one's mind to achieve our goals, realise one's potential and find meaning in life. 

Christine Vardaros – Intermittent fasting for mega results 

Wanna build muscle, look younger, improve your health, and transform yourself into a fat-burning machine – all without dieting? This is your chance to learn how to easily do this, as simply explained by pro international cyclist Christine Vardaros. She'll also get you started on Ketogenic dieting for those who dare to take the plunge. 

Kate Strong – How to Become A World Champion

Ever wondered what it takes to become number one in the world? Kate Strong never meant to become a champion triathlete, she just wanted to do her best… it just so happened her best was #1.

Dealing with a messy break-up leaving her $1 million in debt and working 7 days a week, Kate had 101 reasons to give up.

Yet, she switched to a 100% plant-based diet, learnt to thrive off 4 hours of sleep a night and stepped up mentally to win World Champion in Triathlon.

Christine Vardaros – How does Veganism work it's magic for active lifestyles

Are you ready to be your very best and reach your fitness and health goals? Pro international cyclist Christine Vardaros tells how a plant-based diet helped her to do just that. Get simple tips, tricks and tweaks to build new habits that’ll put you on the path to success.

Charles (Ankh Rah) – The connection between sports, exercise and nutrition

Charles chose this industry after being let down by the GP and health specialist who wanted him to accept a condition for life. Charles after going down the vegan and holistic route managed to find a remedy for his condition. He then started his own company supplying natural supplements which have since, won multiple health industry awards and is receiving many 5-star reviews. Charles has since healed himself from a hernia without the operation offered by the hospitals and then started training in Calisthenics which many of the exercises require a strong core showing proof of a complete recovery.

Ross Mckay – The plant-based athlete:  Why in a world of marginal gains, ditching meat can be the catalyst for a giant leap

As a young athlete, Ross was steered down the path of a diet rich in animal protein. But after adopting a plant-based diet four years ago, he’s never felt or performed better. Novak Djokovic won Wimbledon powered by plants, and he’s just one of a growing wave of athletes who have made the life-changing switch. In his talk, Ross explores why plants are the perfect fuel for athletes of all levels.

Carlos Barbon – Easy and motivational tips for builiding strength the natural and vegan way

This talk will cover all aspects of training, from vegan nutrition to training, weight loss and health. This talk's main goal is to motivate you to make the natural step to a cruelty free vegan lifestyle while you continue to enjoy and benefit from sport and training.

Elvis Tadlanek – Workshop – Introduction to Progressive Calisthenics

Want to improve your workouts, get into shape and learn new skills, all without having to pay for a gym membership, classes, apps or plans? Progressive Calisthenics, a combination of old-school and modern bodyweight training, offers you just that. In this workshop we will go through a selection of calisthenics exercises which require zero equipment. But more importantly, you'll learn how to progress using only your bodyweight as resistance, getting stronger, building more muscle, and improving your endurance as well as flexibility in the process, all of which will help you build a strong foundation for mastering some iconic Street workout moves. The human flag, front lever, one arm pull ups and push ups, the planche – all that is possible with my easy to follow system. Both beginners and experienced athletes are welcome to join.

Amy Elisabeth – Feel Happier and Healthier – The Vegan Way (Talk and stretching session)

We are often made to feel like health and fitness is complicated but it doesn’t have to be. In this two part talk, we will first look at the fundamentals of a happy and healthy life. In the second part we will do a 15 minute full body workout followed by a stretching session that even the busiest person can do everyday. Feel welcome to bring a mat to use, but this is not compulsory.

Plant Powered Expo – February 1st 2nd 2020 @ Olympia London
